Flower: Gracefull cattail has medium green foliage. As plant matures, you may see typical, brown cattail flowers forming towards the end of summer.

Water Depth at planting: Plant likes root zone to be at the water surface (soil under water, leaves above water.)
Cut foliage back after frost just above the water line or leave standing until spring for winter interest. Stems are hollow so cutting above the water line helps prevent rotting from the inside out.
