Native Cattail, sometimes referred to as Broadleaf Cattail or Common Cattail, has medium green foliage. Cut foliage back after frost just above the water line or leave standing until spring for winter interest. Stems are hollow so cutting above the water line helps prevent rotting from the inside out.
