Restoring an Aging Backyard Pond

Completed in 2024, this project involved the complete reconstruction of an aging 12′ × 8′ fish pond and 10-foot stream in St. Michael, Minnesota. Located directly beside the home’s patio, the pond was rebuilt to improve reliability, simplify maintenance, and provide a healthier environment for the homeowner’s fish while preserving the natural beauty of the landscape.

Enjoying the Pond After Sunset

To complete the renovation, underwater LED lighting was installed throughout the pond and waterfall. The lighting highlights the movement of the water, illuminates key rock features, and allows the homeowners to enjoy the pond long after the sun goes down, adding a completely different atmosphere to the backyard in the evening.
