Rebuilding an Aging Backyard Stream
This project was completed in Elk River, Minnesota in 2025. The existing 35-foot stream had developed persistent leaks and structural problems after years of use. Rather than disturbing the pond, we focused on rebuilding the entire stream while preserving the original pond and surrounding landscape.

A Better Design, Not Just a New Liner
Before construction, we presented two options: replace only the liner or redesign the stream from the ground up. Together with the homeowner, we chose a complete rebuild. The stream was reshaped with new cascades, a more powerful pump was installed, and the water flow was redesigned to create a stronger, more natural-looking waterfall.

Built for Long-Term Reliability
During the rebuild, we also replaced the damaged supply plumbing after discovering freeze damage caused by water left inside over winter. With new plumbing, upgraded equipment, and a completely rebuilt stream, the water feature now delivers dependable performance, a natural appearance, and a dramatic focal point the homeowner enjoys every day.
