Here is a 12′ waterfall made with native Minnesotan granite boulders and river rock. Underwater lights highlight the falls which gently flow around the boulders.
This style of waterfall is easy to maintain:
In spring, clean off dead leaves by scooping or blowing them away with a leaf blower.
Summertime may require a bit of algaecide in the hottest part of summer to keep string algae down but a regular dose of beneficial bacteria usually keeps algae in check for most of the season. You may also need to top off the water in hot weather because of evaporation losses.
Fall– scoop leaves off the rocks.
Winter: Turn off pump. Some bring their pump inside and some leave the pump out. Check manufacturers directions. (If you want to run your pump during the winter, pay attention to ice dams and low water levels. You don’t want the pump to run dry as that ruins it.)
Installation of the Aquascape AquaBlox Water Storage Module forming the underground reservoir for a pondless waterfall system.
Expert placement of native Minnesotan granite boulders and river rock over the pondless waterfall liner during the final stages of water feature construction.
